  • I am a bit of an internet addict, which is why my computer is always on. And the reason it looks like I wasn't playing is because I recorded in uncompressed AVI, which as I have explained before, often has a problem with syncing the audio and video.

  • where did u get ur mouth pice cuz i have been playing for 2 years and i can hit a double g and do u think a mouth pice would help me get higher

  • I bought the mouthpiece straight from Monette at their factory in Portland, OR. A mouthpiece could definitely help you to play higher, but the biggest difference with the lead mouthpiece is the lead trumpet sound that results.

  • its better if u learn to play high on ur current/ bigger mouthpiece. leads give you a thin tone and just make you're range easier, not higher. Also, lead stuff is really just all in you're breathing. Watch maynard's 'maynard ferguson' and watch how he breathes. and nice trumpet, is it a strad?

  • I agree, it is better to work on the high notes with a deeper mouthpiece (i.e. my concert mouthpiece). However, the reason I use the lead is mainly for the bright sound it produces. That sound is very hard to replicate on a deeper mouthpiece.

  • I will admit some mouthpieces mess with your sound, but as far as range goes it makes very little difference with any brass instrument. I can play just as high on my 3c as I can on every 14a4a I've ever played on. And honestly most of the sound has to do with you

  • Jeees, I know this vid has been up a while but how come it's got > 17500 hits? He's not exactly Susan Boyle (or is he!)

  • @BreathInMandeeNicole im glad some1 agree with me but megatone is da way to go asymmetric kills shikie

  • @59sawfsider what ? :O I love shikie mouth pieces! Bach mouth pieces look and sound so much better though(:

  • @GamingPrower thats the problem i had that 14a4a all it did was mess my tone up, yes i could hit da notes i wanted but ppl barely heard it so im just sticking to my megatone 5c, my normal 5c and my asymmetric

  • @59sawfsider I would also like to mention that they made the 14a4a and similar mouthpieces specifically for upper register. Once you get high enough, a 14a4a may give you the desired tone you want. In mid range, the 14a4a does not deliver a good tone most of the time, which is why people don't like it. But if it gives you the tone you want in the upper register and you only play in the upper register on the mouthpiece, it will make your life easier.

  • @59sawfsider They make mouthpieces that are really full as well...You are only looking at mouthpieces that Schilkie has on the other side, when they have some great mouthpieces that go with an orchestral type set up with dark rich tone. Which also complement their HD design trumpets.

  • @GamingPrower i said its evil for a reason, using them makes ur tone thin and not full soooo its evil...

  • @59sawfsider Assuming a brand is evil by a few mouthpieces is rather stupid...

I've used Schilke all my life. Slide grease, Trumpet ( I use a B7 model), mouthpieces(there is more than the popular 14a4as and stuff you know...), etc.
