Ex-CIA Boss George Tenet Telling a 9/11 Lie

In 2005, Zacarias Moussaoui pled guilty to 9/11 terrorism. In August 2001, the FBI in Minneapolis had Moussaoui in custody and wanted to search his laptop. For this they needed the cooperation of the FBI headquarters in Washington for a search warrant request. The request was denied because the CIA lied to the FBI while telling them that Moussaoui had "extremist views" but that their report from Paris "didn't say Al Qaeda or anything like that."

After he made a speech at the University of Oklahoma in March of 2005, I asked Tenet about this, and he lied again by claiming that TIME magazine was "absolutely wrong."

Below is a transcript of this brief dialogue between me and Tenet:

Wright: [introducing myself] Mike Wright. Mr. Tenet, Time reported in June of 2002 about the fact that in August 2001 the FBI headquarters was being confronted with a request from its Minneapolis agents to search the computer of Zacarias Moussaoui

Tenet: [interrupting]: Right.

Wright: And reported that the CIA erroneously painted up Moussaoui to be just a religious extremist,

Tenet: [interrupting] That's not true.

Wright: but not an Al Qaeda member. Well, obviously it wasn't true. My question to you is how do you account for that terrible lapse of intelligence in 2001?

Tenet: There wasn't a lapse of intelligence. We knew who Moussaoui was all the time. In fact, the FBI came to us to help them since they couldn't get the court authorization or the data to get a judge to authorize it. They came to us for help. We knew exactly who Moussaoui was.

[The event hostess had removed the microphone, so at this time I had to shout]

Wright: Did Time magazine make a mistake?

Tenet: Yes sir, they did. They were absolutely wrong.

Had the Minneapolis FBI not been obstructed by the CIA from searching Moussaoui's laptop in August 2001, they might have been able to prevent the 9/11 attack.

My information is in support of the demand for a new and honest 9/11 investigation.

INTERESTING OBSERVATION ABOUT WHAT TENET SAID

Notice where I was in the sentence when Tenet interrupted me the SECOND time. Go back and listen again -- closely.

He said "that's not true" before he even heard the statement that I was going to make which
he wanted to deny.

He KNEW what I was going to say and he was scared to death that I was going to be heard and believed. Assuming that he is guilty as I accuse him, doesn't it make perfect sense that he would be afraid that his motive for obstructing the search warrant would be discovered, and that he could see, before I got the sentence out, that this was the direction I was headed?

The video is OK but there was prior warning on the 5th September 2001 which was suppressed by the 9/11 Commission. This is obviously more recent than the August 2001 items which are more of a smokescreem.

9/11 both could and should have been prevented. George Tenet is a poor servant of his people as are others.

Then Douglas Feith, who's former law partner, Mark Zell, owns stolen land in the West Bank and Rabbi Dov Zakheim, as the Pentagon Comptroller, was at the helm when $2.3 Trillion disappeared. I would dare to suggest that Rumsfeld's attempt to usurp CIA power when he set up his own unaccountable agency within the Pentagon might have something to do with this. Think of the several presidents (or their cabinet members) that have threatened CIA in the past. All sides deeply entwined in the same sleaze. Yet when threatened, something always happens to the careers or public reputations of those attempting to decrease CIA's power. (JFK and Nixon come to mind)

In his up-and-coming book, "At the center of the storm", tenet writes:

Mr. Tenet expresses puzzlement that, since 2001, Al Qaeda has not sent "suicide bombers to cause chaos in a half-dozen American shopping malls on any given day."

I am puzzled too.
