Why I Cried

Last night I broke down after being notified that haters had succeeded in VidCon heavily considering banning me from their event primarily due to their worries over my safety, thus preventing me from participating in something I had been looking so forward to + meeting fans...

A message from Hank Green:

"Now, here's my 100% honest, frank reaction that you should feel free to share with everyone:

I'm angry at the person who took you off the site without my permission

I had never planned to have you on stage at VidCon. I have no problem with you being there but we have very limited stage time. The page that you were on was "speakers and guests" you are in the guest category, just as you were last year.

I am now (because of this controversy) starting to feel like it might not actually be safe to have you at the conference. This is upsetting and we have prevented people from coming before out of concern for their safety. I am keeping my eye on the situation and hopefully it will calm down, but keep in mind that if it's possible that you will not be safe, we will not let you come.

I don't agree with a lot of what you say or do in your videos. This is also true for many others at VidCon, but I am thankful that I live in a world where you are free to say what you like.

VidCon is a private entity, and if our goals do not line up with your presence, we won't be able to have you. Whether that's because we can't afford the security necessary to keep you safe, or because we don't think your presence would be conducive to the constructive atmosphere we have worked so hard to build."

Greg, you have done alot of things that have caused this on yourself. I mean TONS of things to cause people to dislike you, that's undeniable. But there is no excuse for people taking it to this level and making it impossible for you to even go see your fans, for that I am sorry and I wish they would draw the line between pointing out flaws, and being outright evil... I'm sorry man.

Gattaca is a cool movie. Jude Law's character killed himself to destroy any trace that he existed I think, for the other Vincent's sake. We watched it in my Biology class, and while we were pretty bummed out by that part, the ending monologue was very inspiring.
