This old song by Maddy Lam urges the beloved to "E ala wiki mai `oe" - hurry to me. The inimitable Ledward Kaapana has made his lively version one of his signature pieces and teaches it on his instructional DVD, "The Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar of Ledward Kaapana" His arrangement is the inspiration for my version.
This clip was shot at my Aloha Friday in Downtown Pleasant Hill on August 14, 2009. I used the Panasonic Lumix ZS3 for the opening shots and the wide performance/passerby shots. The main performance shot was done with the Sanyo Xacti HD2000. Audio for the performance shot was a direct feed from the guitar pickup through a TC Electronics G Natural processor and into the Xacti audio input.
Please visit http://www.kaleponi.com for more slack key.
Thanks, everyone for the very kind comments.
Next year I plan to try to make the move to the big time: Walnut Creek! (grin)

Your audio is always so good, and this version reminds me of Uncle Led's on his "Live Solo" album.

Enjoyed watching and listening to this! If I may ask, how long have you been using your G Natural? Really clean tone - nice playing too!
Best wishes,
