Outside the official event, tax credit supporters milled around, smoking or waiting for the fire marshal's OK to go in the building. That's where one could find compelling, honest arguments for Michigan's fledgling film industry.
Mark Nocera is a retiree who's found extra work as an extra in films such as the still unreleased "Red Dawn" remake. He says letting the film industry go elsewhere will destroy job opportunities for Michigan's young people.
"They'll pack up and leave," he said. "And the thing [Snyder's] doing, look around you. There are very few people my age. All the young people. They all want to be in this and he's killing it."
