The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education

The Schuylkill Center is not only a nature center, but an environmental education center that reaches out to the public to inform and educate them about a variety of environmental issues. One unique feature of the Schuylkill Center is their organic farm. The center's Nature Ramblers: Down on the Farm camp provides children with the opportunity to learn about farming and the history of agriculture in the region and at the Schuylkill Center itself. The hands on experience the children receive at the farm helps them see the connection between the food they eat and the world around them, and raises awareness about the importance of protecting the environment.

If anyone is in the Philadelphia area and are looking for a place to volunteer their time, as a former volunteer, I can tell you that the Schuylkill Center is an excellent place with wonderful people. You will learn so much and have a lot of fun at the same time.
