  • There are only a couple of models to suit kids ages 3 and up and they are so expensive, my kids are nearly 4 and 5 they have the 5 point harness seat for their age and height and the 2 seats cost me nearly $400 each! I have also seen alot of parents not even put seat belts on their kids over the age of 2 let alone have them in an approved child seat, it's ridiculous all these parents putting their child's life at risk, its about bloody time for this law to be enforced properly!

  • Car seat manufactures have still not made any good seats and our new laws are about to come into effect.. We still have no option for 18kg+ with 5 point harness. And yes these seats are very expensive. Some parents are saying we should have gov rebate.

Noticed a 3yr old in booster today with no seat belt.. Wanted to get out and slap them..

  • Pauly, you forgot to thank someone! ME!

Do you remember when we would talk all the time and you would whine and cry about how you were going to get 100 subscribers and I told you that someday you would have 1000 and you would forgot all about crying over 100...

Well, that day has come my friend!

And you forgot, just like I said you would! :)

    And I am very happy!

    I was right! :)

    Love ya bunches,

    AmyCeltic

P.S. You're welcome for that AND for midget porn!

  • Wow 6 months old for Roward facing? the childs spine isnt even strong enough to hold in an accident if the child is forward facing. let alon at 1 years old. I live over in America and the law is 1 year and 22 lbs for forward facing but the AAP just stated that it is safer to keep the child rearfacing till age of 2years old or the weight or hight of the CSS. I keep my almost 14 month old rear facing and my almost 5 year old is still in a 5point harness at 57-60lbs.

  • Yeah, but the best system in the world, ISOFIX, is still technically illegal in Australia, therefore Australia is STILL BEHIND the rest of the world.

We arrive back in Jan after 11 years away and I've shipped my Britax ISOFIX seats over as they are the best.

Volvo Australia has been running a campaign but protectionism for a well known local brand has meant this law won't be reversed anytime soon.

  • thanks fab doesn't have any kids...

    Thanks for the support :)

  • Sure is shame its taken them so long.. But good start. Now we just got to get the seats for people to use..
