were all these vehicles uninsured for theft, or were they just abandoned? our police impound only holds vehicles long term if there is a police investigation involved... usually the insurer comes and gets them and they will decide what to do with it. if they were uninsured/abandoned, then they are forefit to the city and auctioned off.

what a waste. They could have at leaset sold the cars that were ok for families in need of a car , but don't have the credit to get anbother car for a low price.

@SteelCity1981 You are correct. But, these cars were taken from the poor folk of Detroit. Who may of had a flat tire or ran out of gas on the road. Most are crushed and gone.
