  • Thanks for all the comments. When I published this video, I was a few months new to CrossFit movements. I was performing it on my own most of the time unaware of how vital full range of motion is to human performance and work output. Since this I have been sure to only count "legitemen reps" on any workout.

    To answer some of the questions: My max pull-ups to date is 55

    Max legitement best "Fran Time" is 2:09- I have a 2:19 posted on you tube.

  • @cbdud Those are real pull-ups.. of the kipping variety. This workout is done almost to standard - the thrusters were a little sloppy, the squats could have been deepar and he didn't extended back far enough on the press(ear should be visible in front of the arm) but still very impressive.

  • Then you should also argue the fact that he isn't doing leg press or shoulder press on a machine and seperate vs doing thrusters. This movement (and crossfit in general) is NOT about isolating and developing your back muscles only. Read up on the philosophy of crossfit with an open mind and you will see it's a completely different exercise regime. Remember, to each their own; this is just different and geared more towards what he wants which may be different than what you are looking for.

  • Max, you are gnarly bro! I don't crossfit, I powerlift. But your depth is right on. You are totally parallel to the ground, there is no reason to go below parallel when going for time. I paused the video several times and your squat depth is legit, hip is in line with the knee. And it is a lot harder to do them this way than to bounce off a ball to get depth, those people are cheating. You should be very proud. Your explosiveness on your opening kips is SICK! Great job!
