Douglas Gordon - moving images

Douglas Gordon zählt zu den renommiertesten Künstlern seiner Generation und erhielt bereits 1996 den britischen Turner-Preis. Im Jahr 2007 war er mit einer umfangreichen Werkschau im Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg zu sehen, die im intensiven Dialog mit dem Künstler entstand.
Die Inszenierung der Werke sollte dem Charakter des Œuvres Rechnung tragen und die multimediale Arbeitsweise des Künstlers reflektieren. Die große Ausstellungshalle des Museums wurde in eine riesige Black Box verwandelt, in welcher die Videoinstallationen, Fotografien, Textarbeiten und Monitorarbeiten miteinander interagieren.
Erinnerung, Verlust und Wiederentdecken bilden die thematischen Fixpunkte der Arbeit von Douglas Gordon. Es sind vor allem seine Filmprojekte, die Douglas Gordon bekannt gemacht haben. Zumeist verwendet er vorgefundenes Filmmaterial, sog. „found footage, das er durch unterschiedliche, minimale Eingriffe bearbeitet.

Zur Zeit entsteht ein Film für die EDITION MEDIA ART über den schottischen Ausnahmekünstler.

Douglas Gordon is one of the most renowned artists of his generation and received in 1996 the British Turner Prize. In 2007 he was with an extensive exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg which was produced in an intensive dialogue with the artist.
The staging of the works should have the character of the Œuvres account and the multimedia work of the artist's reflection. The large exhibition hall of the museum has been transformed into a giant black box, in which the video installations, photographs, text work and monitor work interact.
Memory, loss and rediscovery are the fixed points of the thematic work of Douglas Gordon. It is above all, his film projects, the Douglas Gordon have made known. Mostly, he uses the so-called "found footage", which he produces a minimal intervention worked.

Currently, a film for the MEDIA EDITION ART on the Scottish exceptional artist is in production.
