This is the music used for the "HMI Sound Operating System Setup Utility", basically a program to test and set a sound card as default for a game (it was used in many games). Yes, this is from the DOS era, when there was no standard for a sound card and musicians had to deal with a crapton of different-sounding devices (if they didn't just ignore them, of course). The original TEST.HMI file was converted to MIDI using a DOS converter called hmi2mid and it can be found here: http://www.ttdpatch.net/midi/hmi2mid.exe.
The main premise of this series is to bring remastered versions of classic video game tunes, relying on the vgmusic.com site for the MIDIs and the Yamaha PSR-740 (the only keyboard that I happen to own) for playback and recording, since I don't know how to sequence a MIDI file nor even play a keyboard.
