The January/February/March, 2009 issue of Hinduism Today will bring the fascinating story of Ruth St. Denis, the revolutionary modern dancer who introduced to the West India-inspired choreographies. We thought you would like to see this small excerpt of a performance by her husband, Ted Shawn, entitled "The Cosmic Dance of Shiva." Copyrighted to the documentary "Denishawn" by the New Jersey Center Dance Collective, here under fair use as a brief portion of the work.
Well, at least we know what inspired the Coneheads' skull shapes.

Naif... The Modern Dance is naif... Just an insult for the millenary tradition of The Natyasastra, Toltecáyotl and Eleussis Misteries...

You guys realize this was from the 1920's, right? Modern dance was still fairly new, and the world was not as interconnected as now, so don't judge too harshly.
