A rally was held to call for the release of Fumiaki Hoshino on November 28, 2011 at the San Francisco Japanese consulate. A petition and statement was also presented to the Japanese Consulate calling for the release of Fumiaki Hoshino and the right of him to have visitors who are not his relatives. Fumiaki Hoshino has been jailed for over 37 years in a police frame-up because of his anti-war and political activity. He helped organize a protest in 1971 against the Okinawa Reversion Agreement between Japan and the United States that allowed continued operation of US military bases of Okinawa and the introduction of nuclear weapons into Okinawa.
He was accused of killing a policeman in a trial in which evidence including video disappeared.
