Allen didn't attend because he was playing clarinet at Carnegie Hall

Is Cicely Tyson trying to make contact with extraterrestrial life with that big gold antenna on her head? I guess she was trying to get into the spirit of Close Encounters and Star Wars.

Well, obviously they would be more relevant to me personally. Suffice to say, the notion that an anointed film industry collective (in this case AMPAS) decides what is "the best" has a degree of absurdity to it. Yes, I'm an Oscar grouch.

So basically they'd be relevant when things you like are acknowledged?

Woody Allen totally deserved it, and deserves more than one oscar for direction... Annie Hall is one of the best films i ever saw... It's a masterpiece so as everything that Woody does!

My opinion is that the Oscars are overrated anyway. There are filmmakers like Werner Herzog who never won an Oscar, let alone even been nominated for an Oscar.

Lucas this was yours and you will always be the winner in my opinion.

And the Oscar goes to... George Lucas for Star Wars

Wow what ring that has to it
