MY FATHER USED TO WORK WITH EAST AFRICAN RAILWAYS AND WAS STATIONED IN KAMPALA THAT WAS IN 1970 WHEN AMIN WAS IN POWER.MY FRIEND LINGALA TUNES WERE ON TOP.WITH JUKE BOXES IN KATWE, KIBULI,NTINDA,NSAMBYA.I REMEMBER WITH NOSTALGIA.I WILL NEVER FORGET THOSE DAYS!!
The year is 1974. It is the wellcome dance for the ANYANYAS (senior ones) in Gulu High School (northern Uganda). The floor is free for the S1s and the number being played is photo Madjesi. Churchill Kidega Jugoi (RIP) and Ananias Okot (now sits in Wheel chair) force me infront and that senior 4 girl picks me. She holds my hands and I move with sluggish steps around. But my interest for music is awakened. Thanks for those GOOD OLD DAYS. They never come back. I AM SORRY for Kidega and Okot. SAD!

Hey! Kitgum High School in the seventies, If there was anything in Amin's regime, it was the lingala music, nothing beat them to date.
