The Birdie Dance is a mini-documentary that captures the enchantment of Tanya Flowers as she plays - for the first time - the largest church organ in Australia. While Tanya neither reads nor writes, her ear for music is both special and unique. The Birdie Dance eloquently highlights how important creativity can be for people living with intellectual disabilities as a means of self-expression and acknowledgment.
This film was made during the 2nd year of the Vicinity Film Project - a Lotterywest funded initiative of the Ethnic Disability Advocacy Centre in Western Australia
