The attacker, who is still at large, is described as a Chinese man, aged 30 to 40, with a tanned complexion.
The two lone women were assaulted within five days of each other.
The first was stabbed on Jan 29 at Block 172, Yishun Avenue 7, the victim, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rachel Soh, suffered multiple wounds on her face and upper body, including a C-shaped open wound on her right cheek.
the second victim was attacked in Yishun Avenue 9, opposite ITA Yishun, on Feb 2 morning. about 1.5km from where the first victim was attacked.
In the second attack, the victim managed to grab the assailant's 15-cm knife, causing it to snap at the handle.
Police have also sent out an SMS urging people to call 999 if they spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect.
