This is a great video!

@FuzzMike After studying this, the best way to introduce some verb into the cans is to dedicate one of the free mixes to setting up an aux mix (just like a hardware mixer), routing it to a free physical output, patching that output to an external hardware verb (an old Alesis Microverb for instance) and returning the output of the verb to some free input/s (mono or stereo), then mixing it to taste in the cans.

This is indeed a very good video. Clear and informative. However, I would be really interested to hear how you can enhance the vocalist's performance with a bit of reverb for tracking - again with no or little latency. Saffire pro 40 does not use a dsp reverb but is there a possible way of adding a tint of reverb without resorting to outboard/analog gear? Would appreciate any comment on this issue. Thanks in advance:)

is there a way to reset the settings as default? because i was moving the knobs around and changing the settings and my mic doesn't sound the same anymore, vocals don't come out clear.

hey, i have a Saffire Pro 24 (not DSP) and i have headphones connected to the headphone Jack in the the front (Yeah, i know, Dah) but when i connect some speakers to one of the back inputs the bass is lost completely (and my speakers have excessive bass), but when i connect them to the headphone jack the bass is back. Any idea of what could be causing this issue? its really annoying when other person has the headphones while recording and i wanna hear the rest. plz help

Thank you very much! This video contains mor infomation than i found on ny official Focusrite video.
Very helpfull for me because i am looking for a new interface and i am stuck between the "Focusrite Liquid Saffire" and the "RME Fireface 800"... Any chance that you have some information about the RME interface?

Do you have to have a headphone amp or can you plug in headphones directly to the outputs of your saffire?

@recordingrevolution Thanks!!! Your feedback is greatly appreciated!!!

awesome video...i use the saffire 56 as well....used to have alot of latency issues...thank you for explaining
im not sure if this is relevant but i hope it is im using the saffire pro 40 and my issue is im using amplitude vst plug in to record my ideas before reamping but the clean signal is coming through as well as the effected signal during live monitoring there is virtually no latency but alot of guitarist i work with find this of putting as they can hear both signals simultaneously please please help its killing my brain

@upwiththewolves You can always mute the "dry" signal in the Saffire MixControl software, but then you don't get the zero latency of recording. It's hard with software amp modeling. I would just turn down the buffer size as best you can and monitor in the DAW

great video, it really helped me a lot. quick question and please note that i am new to all of this. i assume that in using the mixer as discussed in your video, there would still be an issue with latency that would need to be corrected once the track is sent to the DAW (that the mixer helps avoid the annoyance of latency while recording and listening but when the track is sent to the DAW wouldn't there then be latency?) or am i wrong. again i am very new to this.
mecco07 2 months ago
@mecco07 Not at all. The latency is only an issue as you are hearing yourself in real time and delayed from the computer and that will just throw off your performance. Once it's recorded, everything plays back together fine.

Hey Graham, excellent video. Quick question, do you use the liquid pres and if so, which one is your favorite?

@eBVphilia Yep, I use them all the time. I like different settings for different situations. I'll usually flip around till it sounds good!
