What does the Sabbath mean? How do we obey and keep it holy? We are to rest from all our work on this special day but is this day Saturday, Sunday, or some other day long forgotten by the world? We know what the world teaches, but what is the TRUTH?

  • UR confused vicratcliff!!!

  • Ok if the 7th day never ended, then there can't be a 8th day beloved. as we see in scripture to conciter a "day" was evening to morning, nice try my friend

  • you didnt really say much on your view on the sabbath. What is it exactly your trying to say brother. Its not sat or sun its not Jesus, so what is the sabbath day rest, that you didnt explain, sounds like you need a part 2 just to explain your theory beloved, bless you

  • @Habsfan0206 , When one accepts this truth, they begin to shape their understanding, not off of man's image, but God's image. One will understand that God did NOT create in 7 literal days. One will understand the meaning of being circumcised on the 8th day. One will understand the work we are to rest from. We are told, everyone of us to abide in our place. Rev. 22:11 is what obeying the Sabbath commandment truly means as all things in the absolute truest sense work for the good of God.

  • @Habsfan0206, I obey it not according to man but to God. Now, I ask this. Are you willing to change or will you continue to hold on to error? This certain place spoken of in Hebrews is in Genesis. I implore you, if I am wrong; show me. Did the Bible state that the 7th day ended by God? If so, please quote me the verse. Every "day" in creation ended with "and thus the evening and the morning were the __day." Please show me where this applied to the 7th.

  • @Habsfan0206 Galatians 5:14-16,14For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Is it of the Spirit or the flesh that you would devour me because I work on Saturdays? Or is the Sabbath excluded from this? I am confident that I obey His Sabbath commandment.

  • @Habsfan0206 Sin is transgression of the law, but the law was added because of transgression. How is this possible? You mention Hebrews 4 but you fail to grasp its true meaning. For He spoke IN A CERTAIN PLACE of the 7th day ON THIS WISE. It also states that the works were FINISHED since the foundation of the world. These verses does not mention a weekly rest as in our image, but a perpetual rest; a day that was available then as is now.

  • @vicratcliff, Romans 6:23 states, the wages of sin is death. Sin is when you break any one of God's commandments. The Sabbath is a commandment and the following verses do point our need as Christians to keep all of God's commandments: Matthew 19:17; John 14:15; 1 John 5:3; Hebrews 4:4-9 and Revelation 14:12. The last verse mentions that the saints or true believers are those that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. I've made my point. Pray to God about it. Thank you.

  • @Habsfan0206 If your wife had made you a sweater, is it not yours to do with as you please as long as you take heed to the instructions that came along with it? You mention servile work; I am presently working as a manager for a pizza place. I do so every Friday well into the morning, and it is the same Saturdays as well. Am I breaking the law of God? How so? It is stated in the Bible that all that is not of faith is sin. Why then be brought under the power of an IMAGE that passes away?

  • @vicratcliff, we, as humans, are not 'lords' of the Sabbath. The Sabbath was made for man. It's meant to be a delight but also a special time of dedication and obedience to our Creator God. Jesus worked in God's service; His work was not servile work like ours.
