Ni no Kuni (PS3): Boss #13 - Sekiryuu

On our way to revive Gradion we need a much more effective form of travel since the ship doesn't seem to be enough. So we've headed to the Sky Pirate King's Hideout to see if we can use their airship...

Then they sick this guy on us.

Crimson Guardian: Sekiryuu (赤き守護者セキリュウ)
Weak: Water, Wind
Resist: Fire
Steal: Flying Dragon Horn (飛竜のツノ)
Drop: None

Scorching Breath (灼熱ブレス)
Area of effect, fire, moderate damage. He flies into the air and starts breathing flames while moving towards the person he is targeting. This attack actually has some pretty crazy range and tracking but as long as you don't actually get caught in the flames it will only do minor damage. If you're caught in the flames then jump out of them to minimize the damage they do. Standing in the flames can easily get you knocked out from full HP.

Fire Lance (ファイアランス)
Area of effect, fire, heavy damage. He's firin' his LASER!!! Just get out of the way and use guard shift if anyone else is in the way.

Dragon Aura (ドラゴンオーラ)
Self-target, n/a, increases magic defense.

As I've said before, I really love the fire-based bosses in this game. They're based more on your ability to actually dodge the attacks rather than spam commands. As such if you're very attentive you can easily defeat this guy without breaking a sweat.

@2129261184 this game is really quite a surprise. Story is great, dynamic characters, fun battle system that requires thinking, and not going about with the hack n slash. game is about 70 hours, but 100+ for getting everything or so
