11/13/08 Tea Fire that started about 6:30 pm...this was shot at 9:30...you can't see it, but there are about 4 houses already consumed by this section of the fire
Montecito isn't Hollywood. Furthermore a Christian University, Westmont also suffered from this fire. I grew up in that neighborhood, my parents bought their house for $180,000 and were lucky that property value went up (in addition to us busting our asses on weekends to remodel the house). In over 22 years of living there I never saw one celebrity in my neighborhood. A few probably just own houses which they rarely visit.
And... living in San Francisco isn't a huge earthquake risk? The fact is California is way overpopulated for the natural resources it has, especially water.
Burn, hollywood, burn. You people have brought this upon yourselves. God is great and sees all. You should have known it before you did the wrong things.
Yes I DO know what I am talking about my friend. I live in S.Fra and have 2 friends who live in SB. I cautioned them about the potential brush fire hazards. Thankfully they are OK thusfar.
Do you even live in SB or know what your talking about? Good observation sherlock, however I actually live on the Riviera and yes, the houses are perfectly fine there. Then some hillbilly such as yourself comes along, thinks he knows it all, then fires off some half witted comment that pisses me off. When you actually have enough money to purchase a fine home here in SB, shut your mouth...until then, enjoy your lame life bent over your keyboard.
It "started" by building houses in areas where houses should never have been built in the first place. Building your house in a historically fire-prone area with tons of brush left to pile up for years like a tinderbox. Then someone drops a hot coal on the ground or a spark flies out of a truck exhaust pipe on a nearby road and it's goodnight-irene.
Yes. Students of Santa Barbara City college were having a bomb fire at the tea house and it obviously didn't get put all the way.
