Addressing the Fifth National Clinical Conference on Cannabis Therapeutics held in Pacific Grove, CA, April, 2008, Bonnie Martin, RN, a representative of the California Nurses Association (co-sponsors of the conference) points out that, by law California nurses are required to be patient advocates. A central goal of the CNA is that "patients should not be forced to endure pain and suffering...and must be free to seek all therapeutic options".

  • Amen! Thank you for posting this. I have CRPS/RSD, a horrid, progressive, neurological illness. This alternative is the only "medicine" that EVER stops my pain cycle. All the pain pills, I would permanently flush them down the toilet forever, if I could use marijuana. It is the only time I can smile, laugh, and have some sense of normalcy with my peers; as I am only 32 years old. Thank you!

  • people helping people. that is what this is all about. how can you disagree with that!? it is a shame to think we have the largest prison system in the world, and they are chuck full with non violent people that use an organic form of medication. keep up the great work C.N.A. Nurses!
