How to "Bump" Open a Lock

Hello friends, work is slow tonight so I am going to teach you a new skill (and sorry I only have my cellphone camera on me).

Using the conservation of linear momentum, you can file all the ridges on a key down to the same length and open most ...padlocks, front doors, and car doors by "bumping" the key into place; thus transferring the momentum out of the key and into the pins that line up inside the tumbler, allowing the lock to open.
