  • This is my family!

  • This is a dream come true. So happy you found these. No way was I ever going to sell them. Too precious.

  • Val,

Yah- the music is royalty free, not my choice- rather have Scott Joplin. Chuckles.

  • You've got some tin types too. Amazing how these photos retain their image for all these years.

  • Ironically I have kept them in sealed containers for 35 yrs, and they are rapidly disintegrating. Am trying to find methods to stop this. These are 164 yrs old. A Pity.

  • Thanks Jas, I took piano and organ as a child. Scott Joplin is a major favorite as well a the greats Beethoven, including Jerry Lee Lewis, Liberace. : )

    Remember S's forehead.

  • These are all tintypes not Daguerreotypes. Unfortunately there is no conservation treatment that can stop the rusting of the iron base, that is causing the collodion layer to delaminate.

  • wow...these are really old pictures and you're lucky enough to have them in such good condition, thanks for sharing it with us.

  • Love it, the music is perfect for the pictures!! Or at least I think that, lol..

  • WOW I love these pictures. I'm not familiar with the family, but I get a kick out of anything nostalgic. I have some of my own too. cute music too.

  • Not familiar with that particular libtrary but usually they are best kept by professionals instead of a dusty attic.

Most people don't care enough about their heritage to take care of stuff like this and.. . dageurotypes do take some taking care.
