  • Can it boot from a flash drive? I really hate the slow speeds of an SD card.

  • @blahguy164 -- no you need to boot from SD card. You can load a root filesystem to a USB thumbdrive or USB HD and run the file system on that.

  • @omapvideo

is this the first boot's video, my pandaboard's first booting took ages

  • @Qole You don't right? Why it is explained in all wiki tutorials? To have after boot communication?

  • how far are you with accelerating the desktop with OpenGL ES 2.0? do apps need to be ported to use EGL instead of AIGLX or how does it work? as far as I can tell, this is a big feature missing so far.

and what about video decoding acceleration in Ubuntu on the pandaboard, is this possible/being worked on?

  • Gotcha, the SD card would seem to be such a big bottleneck that I think that faster CPU wouldn't help it much or at all compared to slower model that run with a SSD.

  • now i have been keeping an eye on this, but this i do like, give me some more..

  • Don't panic if you don't have a 9 pin serial dongle! You don't need it. At all.
