Enjoy a tour of Hugenot Street in New Paltz, New York on the banks of the Wallkill River. The Hugenots were Northern French Protestants who had to flee France because of Catholic rule. They first settled in Germany and then took the name of "New Paltz" after their temporary Germanic home when they arrived in New Netherland in 1678. The twelve orginal families were named "Patenees" because the governor granted them a patent to settle New Paltz. Historic Hugenot Street features 6 house museums, a Georgian-style house from 1799, a 1717 restored church, a burying ground and other buildings.
thanks for your comment! I don't know if it's haunted, but I'm now very interested in finding out thanks to you!
