One of the first Italian Punk Rock bands, Robert Caruso's Rob Leer & The Electric Kids (1979 - 1988). Clip recorded on VHS from TV. 1981 copyright control.
Robert Caruso debuted live in 1978, when he was 13, performing solo with an acoustic guitar. The Electric Kids played their first gigs in 1980, in their hometown of Cosenza, south Italy. The band went through several line-up changes; in 1982 they appeared in the film Primi Amori (dir: Mimmo Rafele, RAI, Italy) which was first shown on Italian TV in 1984. In 1983 the four Electric Kids in this clip (Robert Caruso: vocals, guitar. Francesco Ficco: guitar. Nino Le Pera: bass. Cesare Marino: drums) moved to Rome. In 1985 Robert moved to London, where he's still based, and The Electric Kids disbanded for good in 1988. Their recordings are now collected on a double CD titled Rob Leer & The Electric Kids, which can be listened to on digital radio Last.fm and on the website: www.robertcaruso.it
