any one know who was first to put this out? Kathy or Rosie?
-
Both artists were charted in 1960, and the song was common that year. To state that Kathy Young having recorded this song is "blasphemy" is ridiculous and overly dramatic.
-
the main problem everyone has that covers Rosie Hamlin is; They're Not Rosie Hamlin. That aside it's not bad.
-
Oh good grief...music is for anyone with the cajones to sing it. Having said that, this would have been much better without the howling in the background.

I have fused Rosie & The Originals with Kathy Young and The Innocents. They both interchangeably sing "Angel Baby" and "A Thousand Stars in The Sky". Rosie is best on this cut.

Strange you mentioned Mary Weiss, as A few months ago I bought her cd, and I hhave to say I was really disappointed with it. Most songs were quiite bland, and I gave it away. It wasn't her voice that was to blame, but the songs didn't have anything special to offer

@dylandollyspud you're right. that's why i don't go see them now, i want to remember them how they were. although.... i just saw a video of mary weiss of the shangri las, from 2008 and she looked and sounded as good as she did when she was 16. she's 62. and no, i wasn't on drugs! she was wearing leather jeans! TIGHT Leather..... and man, she still knows how to clap her hands and snap her fingers like no other.... :)

I still love this version. And We Love you Kathy! Keep on Rocking Lady!

Rosie Hamlin is the only one who deserves to sing this song. This is blasphemy!

There is still one clip of a thousand stars.
I am all fo rhanging whoever pulled the other two clips though... especially the one of her when she was in Pittsbrugh. She was 58, looking like 30, and sounding even better
