Char is such an awesome character, both as a villain and a person. A professional soldier to a T, a gentleman, ruthless killer, sentimental and vengeful. In today's world of anime villains we only get cookie cutter evil for evils sake baddies or stereotypical villain rivals. In my opinion, the mark of good storytelling is when you catch yourself saying "wow they're right, maybe he/she isn't so bad after all!" about a villain. Grey storytelling as opposed to black and white. /rant off!

@Duathathedruid Char wasn't supposed to take over white base but join up with them and becomes the new pilot of the Gundam (which he paints red of course) but then at the end they were supposed to fight him because he takes over Zeon. Certain elements of the original plan still happened ( Zeta, Char's counterattack).

@MrSelfDestruct00 Also, the shows creator originally planned for Amuro to die halfway through the series, and for Char to take over white base, but cancelled that idea, can't remember for what reason though, sorry!

Amuro's shooting in the beginning is usually how i react in space missions in Gundam vs Zeta. You shoot, shoot shoot and pray you hit something cause if not uuuuugh you're screwed.
