He's baaaaaack! Duke Nukem isn't the only 80s icon getting a revival, time for an HD remake of Leisure Suit Larry. What's up guys, it's Andrea Rene here for Clevver Games and EGM has revealed that developer Replay Games has obtained rights to the Leisure Suit Larry franchise. The company will be reviving the character with an HD Remake of Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards.

Now if you are a little confused, it is probably because you're young. Larry Laffer was created by Al Lowe and is lovable loser in his 40s that is dorky, balding, and likes to speak in double entendres. His whole motivation throughout the games is to shack up with young hotties, but without much success.

The series creator will work directly with Replay Games to bring back Larry better than ever, which is good news because the games had their fair share of problems. Originally on PC, the developers hope to bring the game to as many ports as possibly including the Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and maybe even iOS.

The CEO of Replay Games said, "The remake of the original Leisure Suit Larry is going to kick so much ass, the entire world will have to play it standing up. And buy new pants. And a cushion."

Even though the game was known for its sexual themes, it also had lots of puzzles and plenty of humor. The remake looks like it will launch sometime in 2012, the 25th anniversary of the series. I almost rented one of the games for PS2 but I didnt want to get forever branded a perv at that Blockbuster.

(LEE SURE) not lei as for the ps2 and xbox games they were not made with support of al lowe and could be excluded as official "canon" games

Hell yes!!! I played Leisure Suit Larry 1 and Leisure Suite Larry 7! As a gamer since the 80's, in my humble opinion, these games are some of the most genius games of ALL time! Witty, humorous, smart, fun, sexy! I cannot wait for this remake!

@smokydave Actually, Duke's been around since the early 90's. Then he got more popular during the mid 90's.
