Garmin's Forerunner 405 ranks as a favorite find of TechWebTV's David Berlind at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Because of the way it uses GPS to offer distance and speed features in addition to its heart rate and mapping capabilties, the Forerunner is the ultimate accessory for runners, cyclists, and other fitness-minded people. In this video, Garmin's Jake Jacobsen gives David a guided tour of the Forerunner.

  • Can't wait to get mine!

  • how does this watch compare to tech4no?

  • @joshjhutton Cool! the accuracy is what i love the most, and i just got it, since i live north of IL and i love running in the snow i was just wondering if it will freeze or something like my ipod, and it looks like it can withstand 14 degrees Fahrenheit so thats good. thnx anyways!

  • @JMAV57 Mine has never frozen, and after trying out some of the apps on my iPhone, the Garmin 405 is about as accurate as it gets. I still use it. I ran 3 and a half miles just today. Tomorrow I go for 8 miles, plus a 30 mile bike ride. I never question it. It is the best ever. As far as winter freezing goes, I live in So Cal, so what do I care?

  • @joshjhutton srry lol but do you know if it freezes?

  • @joshjhutton I know its like a year but since you have one, do you know if the forerunner works in the winter?

  • it is extremely accurate..i use it for my long runs and the awesome part about it is that u dont have to measure your route on google earth or something like that...u just go care free and the gps will let u know how far. fast and how many cal u have lost ...is that accurate.

  • Can i know where you have ordered it from?

  • Re Chrononyx: So don't look at it, just use it to track your pace and heart rate, as well as having a precise measurement of how far you ran.

The virtual partner (which is basically a pace bunny) gives an audible signal if you fall behind, so you don't have look at the watch for that either.

You never know, you might find that you're tempted to quickly glance at the watch to find out how far you've run so far...

I have one of these, and it's an awesome device, far from useless :)
