  • It is really sad that some people will never understand it until they themselves live it. Just because a city is high income & high activity does not give these people the right to decide who gets to live there & who doesn't. I can remember a time when people in the city mostly cared about someone other than themselves. That time has sadly passed as well.

  • Edmonton just ran it's first Homeless Connect. I was eager to see what it is like in practice. The video shows what a fantastic program it is.

The campaign brings dignity in to the whole process, not to mention helping the homeless get to needed services much faster.

To the naysayer below, how do you plan on sending the homeless "elsewhere"? I suggest that programs like this gives them choices, and a chance to move where they can be safe and productive. Bravo to Homeless Connect.

  • "finger imaging", HA! You mean you fingerprint them. Don't candy coat it. Just like prisons are "correctional facilities".

  • This is a joke! If the City of San Francisco truly committed to providing homeless people with what they need, this venue would be unnecessary. This is nothing but a facade to appease the conscience of Mayor Newsom's supporters and conceal the City's real objectives.

  • project homeless connect was crap the most recent one the people were denied

unless they were having a family

oh and the homeless coalition rocks

gavin newsome is a pig and all the world should know that

  • i was a client of the hot team and they put me in a horrible living situation

  • This is not crap. It has helped a lot of homeless people. Don't talk about what you don't know.

  • I'ts all bullshit! most who go to that are NOT homeless . services they talk about u can get anywere . i'ts all crap.

  • It is absolutely inefficient and asinine to help these people remain in San Francisco.

Last time I checked, major metropolitan areas are HIGH INCOME, HIGH ACTIVITY areas.

So, doing the math, it is costly and a losing battle to keep these problematic people in the area. They are not willing to personally contribute what it takes to remain in the city.

SO IT IS JUST LIFE ON GOVERNMENT DOLE.

nothing new here. so to everyone,

Please stop wasting my tax dollars.

send them where it costs less
