The problem is that generally inherently bad people are the financially driven people in this world, and while we have a system where money rules, then unfortunately we'll never truly progress as a species. Imagine what could really be achieved, with our current technology, rather than Facebook or Ebay.  After all, not much more than a pocket calculator got man on the moon.
