A guide to the Super Special Stages in S3&K

A friend asked me to do a video walkthrough about the Super Emerald stages in Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Here it is, with the hope that this can be useful also to other people.
Please note that this isn't the only way to beat those stages, I'm sure there are several other ways, maybe even better; this is just how I play these stages, and I can beat them. Also, this isn't a speedrun, nor a tool-assisted movie. It's just a plain recording of me playing in these stages.

By the way, you didn't actually do the stages in the proper order.

The way they are meant to be played is starting from the center and working your way out, going from easiest to hardest. From the Hidden Palace, the super emeralds should be activated in the following order:

6-4-2-1-3-5-7

You'll notice that by doing this, the order of the special stages matches the order you play them when doing S&K alone.

Yep, you're right, I know this isn't the real order. I numbered them from left to right because it's simpler, and because many people don't *know* the real order, so it's just easier to say "the second emerald from the left" and not "the fourth emerald in the sequence" :)

Wow, i've been stuck on the second emerald so long, i have all the others. I can't believe that it was that simple :/

and whatever you do dont try to get the super emeralds through sound test it removes all but one emerald

@nineko I think it was a good idea of Sega to let us choose which special stages we wanted to do first. I always found the 5th/or Fourth one way harder than the rest, so after failing at it once, I just did the others before replaying it instead of wasting my Giant Ring chances like in Sonic & Knuckles alone.

Dude, I know this is kinda late, but is it possible to jump a distance of TWO squares in the special stage? I think so because I might have done it accidentally while in the last special stage of Sonic 3 alone, without the lock-on. Can I do it in this too?
