What you forgot to mention sir is that the flight crew of yester years spoke many languages and were way more educationally qualified than the trash that applies for these jobs today. You are right that back in the day both the passengers and the flight crew had class and elegance which seems to be in very short supply now in many airlines including British Airways. BOAC was so much better.

Thank goodness for unions! They could fire you for gaining weight, getting pregnant or becoming disfigured in the old days.

It's not too difficult to get into this kind of job, although it is/ will be getting increasingly difficult as the airlines struggle to break even.

we still have a "good life" at my airline and we dont sleep in airport motels... it really depends on the airline...

I was cabin crew for 10 years, overworked, under paid, constantly stinking of cottage pie, LOL! Pressure was fierce and passengers ungreatfull, god...... i loved it and miss it so much. Best job in the world. xx

I think she had the fire extinguisher facing in the wrong direction. She nearly blew her hair off instead of putting that oven fire out!!!
