  • Nice set up. LED's are still on the expensive side for the regular reefer. How to you determine the program setting for the moon lights? Does your apex download the lunar calendar setting?

  • hey A, Scott said " The apex has its own moon calendar. The moon lights dim or brighten based on the moons phase ".

  • @lafishguy hey jim its me salt and i found a led product called STUNNER LED LIGHT STRIPS and idk if i can use just the strips from that company whitout any other help

in short can i use just stunner led strips on a 65 gallon reef tank (will they suport corals)?????????????????

  • hey S, looks like they are made for aquariums, but you would be better off calling up the company who is selling them and ask them.

  • hey jim! great videos! do you think you can take a video of Scott's 480 gallon reef the next time you go service his tank? a video of the whole tank from a distance so you can capture the whole tank in one shot and some closeups :D you do a really good job servicing his tank!

  • hey L, thank you, but I suspect Scott would like me to wait a bit as he is dealing with a red slime issue at the momment.

  • Hi Jim, Scott...

I believe the new name for this aquarium should appropriately be called High Definition (HD) 500 Gallon Reef Tank. (Thumbs-Up) Truly you can immediately see the difference in the new LED lighting vs the old system. Great work Scott, I am very impressed and enjoyed the show with some popcorn. 10 STARS - Area51XP

  • @lafishguy thanks ill try it

  • Ok buddy. Thanks for your advice

  • hey O, hard for me to determine as white edges can be recession and it can also be new growth. I would expect some sort of adjustment on the corals part, so only time or an experienced eye can say.
