In the early morning hours of Friday Jan 13, 2012 Baltimore and Ohio Rail Diesel Car 1951 built by the Budd Co. was transported from the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, MD to the Freight House Museum in Gaithersburg, MD.
Truck was used instead of rail because the main line switch at the museum was removed several years ago. Video shows the unit moving from the freight house parking lot to the display siding.
it's not operational. it was restored to be a museum near a marc station in gaithersberg, md. it will be sitting on a piece of panel track as just a display. the other car at the b&o restoration shop was gutted for parts and will be scrapped. the museum has 3 others and one does operate.

Wow cool move. Is the rdc in running condition? Did anyone by chance get some pics of the trucks? I am planning on building a 1.5 inch scale 7&1/2 inch gauge set of rdc's over the next few years and am having problems locating drawings or photos of the trucks.
