This is Part I of a ride aboard West Vancouver Blue Bus 1992 Orion I model 01.508 on route 250 towards downtown Vancouver from the BC Ferries Terminal in West Vancouver. Bus is powered by the Detroit Diesel 6V92TA 2 stroke diesel engine and the Voith D863 transmission.

wow, the engine in this orion 1 sounds too much like bc transit Orion V 610!

@4751424 - Yep! 610 was my favorite Orion V in Victoria when I lived there. Last I saw, it was in Campbell River and was still in operation a couple of months ago.

Too familiar this bus! I used to go to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal on these buses but now use Greyhound Canada buses for this trip! Nanaimo,BC used to have buses like this one but no wheelchair access lift unlike this bus here does!

Hell of a nice sound! Too politics and freakin tree hugging enviormentalists are getting thier bloody way! They seem to forget how much pollution creating one bus makes anyways. I was on that green tiff, but not any more for christ sake!

Well guys, is there any DD-6V92TA mated with the Ecomat HP-2 series such as 6HP602? This transmission set can give the classic 2-stroke power maker some new modern character.

it's too bad that alot of older buses with the detroit diesel series 92 are getting retired this year from BC, 8001-8025 in victoria are supposed to be taken out of service pretty soon 'more then likely fall.

I didn't realize that Bc transit's Orion V Buses #607 and 610 are in Campbell river, would you know if #610 still has the Voith D863 transmission anymore or if they converted it to a Allison HTB748?
