Compelling reasons the Canadian cast recording of Phantom should have been a two-disc affair.
These snippets taken though from Rebecca's earlier performances as alternate Christine in London. 1987-1888.
Angel of Music (w/ Janet Devenish)
I Remember... (from Lair Scene)
Music of the Night reprise (from Rooftop scene)
I must go... (from Rooftop scene)
How dare you?! (from Notes II)
If you don't stop, I'll go mad! (from Notes II)
Twisted every way... (from Notes II)
No thoughts within her head but thoughts of joy... (from Don Juan sequence)
and an extra 1987 Think of Me cadenza.
Rebecca's voice was sublime... I saw her 5 times in Toronto and she always gave me goosebumps... and what also set her apart from the other Christine's I saw was her superior acting ability. She was the only Christine I have seen that was able to capture the character perfectly without over-acting... but her voice was her greatest asset. Her full voiced lyric soprano gave Carlotta a run for her money.

Agreed. So much more passionate, and desireable!
