Dont get me wrong the 5.9L Magnums are BADASS engines, but up against the 5.7L Hemi the Hemi will win. Now this is stock vs stock. If they have the same mods the same outcome will happen also. I have raced many 5.9's and they can get up and go, but the new Hemi's are just not comparable to them. Love any and every Dodge Vehicle, so no hate at all :D

I think people dont realize theres a difference in power and speed. I like having a lot of tq vs a whole lot more hp. i heard a saying before. hp sells cars and tq wins races. ol magnum crates have got planty of both. you build it and why get 30k truck? when these trucks have lasted this long and newer ones arent built like them. just my .02. im keeping mine as long as i can. love when it cranks over at -25. just need to maintenance them.

i guess it depends on the truck there are some slow 5.7s and there are some slow 5.9s my 5.9 ram eats my buddys 5.9 dakota r/t and my buddys 5.7 hemi. the other day i raced my 2 friends 5.9s the dakota and a ram extended cab both stock both with cat removed dakota with exhaust the ram full stock just with no cat i beat both of them and the ram even beat the dakota. but i think the dakota has a different tranny or is it sapposed to have a first gear that only goes to 30-40?

@669Tim amen to that. although I have a 5.2 but still. a powerhouse at that. i chevy 350's and 5.4 tritons for breakfast. even a hemi now and again. granted these truckes I go against done have a blown engine or much more that bolt ons making it even.

for 1 the thing the new 5.7 is faster than the 5.9 i owned a 1999 ram sport with 5.9 and now i have a 07 5.7 hemi sport and it has 100 hp more and has a lot more speed
