  • check out "I Can't Stop The Fire" by Eric Martin....It was from the "Teachers " movie soundtrack from 1984...Blistering Schon solo that can melt truck tires.....

  • @tonfan i love this song. Eric Martin is my favorite artist haha

  • You do have to check out the stuff from the first three records. Of a Lifetime and Topaz from the first Journey record are worthy. There's a bunch from those records actually.

  • @hardnecker it's really funny that you say that bc yesterday i was listening to "Journey", "Look into the Future", and "Next" for hours. they are just awesome albums.

  • you forgot stone in love

  • @avielknot it's on "Neal Schon Guitar Solos 2"

  • @SixStringDeity I've listened to every song off of the first 3 Santana albums, and you're right. He can sound mediocre at times compared to others. But he developed into a FANTASTIC guitar player. A lot of his work from the late 70's & 80's is phenomenal. And he's been hailed as a great by countless guitarists including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucia, John McLaughlin, Steve Vai, and even Neal. That alone (to me) says volumes about his greatness.

  • @SixStringDeity You're right, it's all relative. Technically, Neal is a superior player, and has been ever since they began playing together. And yes, Santana's approach is simplistic. Never heard a Santana song I couldn't play. But that doesn't mean he's not great. I think he's an underrated musician (although I hear the word overrated from others more often). He has great melodic and rhythmic sensibilities. He has an EXCELLENT phrasing ability. He really is a master guitarist.

  • @dtongamusic i guess it depends on your standard of good. relative. i know, when i was 18 and playing in my first band, Santana songs were fairly easy to learn, and play. learn one, you know them all pretty much, and, not technically difficult. JOURNEY is another matter. i play guitar for a living, for decades, teach, and have a music degree. guitar is my career, and i still dot know what neal does half the time. MUCH more technical and sophisticated. I like carlos, but....,

  • @SixStringDeity Hold on now. Neal's great, but Santana ain't no shmuck either. He sure as hell isn't a mediocre guitar player.

  • Schon can sound like Beck, Satriani, Gary Moore. Trluy an amazing under rated guitarsit.

  • he had great arms didin't he for a rocker

  • @heavymetaldefjam and quickly left, cus he was already 10 times better. santana NEVER played at neals level, and still is stuck at the same mediocre place.

  • I saw muscles....

  • The solo in Mother, Father and Still They Ride are my two favorites. Simply amazing!

  • Neal is pure and simply a GOD !!!!
