Yes marcohenrique.A great moment of happiness watching this silent movie of "Charlie chaplin"all the boys, jewish and not jewish share the same happiness except poor Bonnet who looks sad.But it is merry and innocence.A parenthesis before the tragedy.

I love this scene, especially the part when they are watching the silent movie. It's like a brief moment of happiness and fun in a stressful situation. The jewish boy looked so sad and dreamy when he saw the Statue of Liberty passing through the screen that it almost made me cry. Durign the War, the United States was a promissed land for all those people who were persecuted in their homeland, so the image of the fleeting statue is there to remind us that many boys and girls were left behind.
