http://TheFrugalityGame.com/ - Cutting your monthly bills can be one of the quickest ways to improve your monthly cash flow. Today we're going to talk about a prime target for reducing your bills, your cell phone provider.
I recently helped a friend negotiate his cell phone bill. Thanks to a couple quick conversations, he was able to reduce his bill from about $125/month to just $40/month. That means he's now saving an extra $85 every month.
That's right, one thousand dollars per year.
Here's a script you can use when you call your current provider:
• (Greet the customer service representative politely, by name if possible.)
• "I appreciate the service I've received from [current provider]."
• "However, with my current financial situation, I can no longer afford to spend [current bill amount] per month on my cell phone."
• "I'd like to be able to stay with [current provider] if possible, but I need to find a way to reduce my monthly expense."
• "I've looked around and discovered that [other provider A] is offering [deal A] and [other provider B] is offering [deal B]. I'd like to be able to find something in that range."
• "What are my options?"
Remember to be polite, professional, and persistent.
