Sgt. Will's Homecoming

American soldier comes home. We are proud of neighbor Will. He was wounded in Afghanistan and is now back home. Sgt. Will lost his foot and his hand was injured when an IED exploded Sept. 7 last year in Kandahar. He had been in Afghanistan since February as a combat engineer and part of a team that would locate and disarm roadside bombs. That was Will's second tour in the Middle East, his first tour was in Iraq.

Will's team was clearing mine fields when someone started shooting at them. His Dad said that in their scramble for cover is when the bomb detonated, and there were several deaths among his son's team members. Will's got a really positive attitude and that was displayed today. (Update: Will's recovery continues. He is now playing ice hockey with other vets.) By the way, if you are from Plainfield you may also notice some other heros in this crowd. God bless them all.
