In a demolition derby wouldn't it be better to run run something really heavy and strong that didn't bend up? Seems like you should just weld some 1 inch steel on the front of a car and box it up. You could hit a concrete wall and not do any damage. Why piddle around with cars that aren't made for hitting things?

@ Dmu1956 a New Yorker is the best car you can have in a derby. They are a full frame hard with AWD and the are a bit heavier. They are illegal in Colorado because if their destructive abilities. Good luck because it puts a huge target on you back when it cones down to the wire.

@k73mrviking, Haha, when i see a late 60s lincoln or imperial in a derby i get a little sad...but i saw two suicide door lincolns on ebay going for $500, good trim, but when i saw them i immediately thought DERBY CAR!...rusted really bad, bad trunk lids, bottoms of the doors rusted out, fenders rusted, hood etc. Beyond restoration...I would like to get myself a 68-71 lincoln mark III, and a 69-73 imperial to build the engines in them and just restore the exterior to better than new condition.
Hi k73mviking, is the red 1968 chrysler 300 still there, what engine does it have. I would love to restore one of these cars one day, i hope you don't trash it.

@operationrepo007 yes it is still there, it had a 383 but it is long gone. I have a white 67 300 two door. but the motor is also long gone

Im not a huge fan of destroying old classic, but allot of the lincolns and imperials destroyed are pretty rusted out. the good thing is that the trim is saved and someone restoring one can buy it. Id rather see one of these cars go out with there boots on then sit for 20 years and go straight to the crusher with all the trim and windows.

@NathansBackwoods yes this car had sat for about 10 years, if i would have found it then i would be driving it as a daily driver!, We always save the good parts and try and make sure they are used to restore a car.

the car is gone by now... dont you feel like saving thoes cars.. i didnt see even a door ding besides the dent in the quarter panel.... i would of fixed it up

@san379 I agree that it is a cool car, but the window had been left open for years so the inside is no good, it has some rust. it would cost more than it is worth to restore. all the chrome windows, badges etc will be saved and sold to someone restoring one in better shape
