Gaia Master is an excellent board game comparable in many ways to Monopoly, published and developed by Capcom. The game debuted on Playstation and would later get an "upgrade" and "downgrade" released around the same time for Dreamcast and Game Boy Color respectively. Every 100 years, the Gaia Master, a divine Gnome, throws the land into chaos and makes the world its playground and mortals act as mere pawns for the Gaia Master's amusement. You get to play as a willing participant in the Gaia Master's game and your hero will go seeking treasure and fame!

The characters are all interesting with their own personalities and skills and the illustrations and designs for the characters and such on the box/case and within the manual are very nice and seem like a combination of Breath of Fire and Darkstalkers. You get to play as Jiggar the Treasure Hunter, Meg-Meg the Warrior, Princess Tiara (who I used, who transforms into a fiery femme-fatale in battle), Galahad the Paladin, Sinbad the Bandit, Samurai Warrior Yasutsuna, Ninja Master Hayate, Goliath the Rogue Priest, and Agathe the Witch by default. In this DC "upgrade", the game is done in 3D rather than 2D and there are various new elements to the game. You can also play as some new characters and bosses by default such as Dante and Son Goku.

You get to run around buying property, paying taxes, using special ability cards and passing GO for rewards. You can also fight characters in battle with different weapons and spells. Of course, this game requires a lot of luck. This game should be relatively cheap and affordable but is moderately uncommon. The Playstation original is perhaps the hardest of the Gaia Master games to find. Enjoy.
