ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE & WAR CH.28

[We all quickly fell asleep. Except for Kevin, since he was driving. He kept the car very cold so nick and I were sharing a blanket. I woke up and looked at the clock. Lunch time.]

C: hey Kevin. Where is the food your mom packed.
K: if joe didn't eat it all its under his seat

[I slid the basket from under joe's seat and opened it. There was a lot of food. A variety of sandwiches, chips, grapes, apple slices, and brownies. Wow. nick woke up and stretched. When he saw the basket of food he grabbed one of each. I just laughed.

Kevin asked for a sandwich so I handed him one. I threw a brownie at joe and he woke up. He looked mad until he saw the brownie and he just ate it. I grabbed a sandwich and some grapes and ate. I handed the basket to joe and let him go at it. All of a sudden it started pouring rain. Wonderful.

We turned on the info station on the radio. They said it was gonna be storming the rest of the day. You couldn't even see where you were driving so we pulled over. after an hour, it was still raining but now it was also pitch black, and thunder and lightning. Mr. joans called and told us we better find a hotel and drive the rest of the way tomorrow since we still had about 4 or 5 hours to go.

We pulled in to the nearest hotel, grabbed our stuff and made a run through the rain for the lobby. They gave us a room and we went up the elevator to the 6th floor. We got to our room and walked in. we turned on the light and put our stuff down. I sat down on one of the beds and looked around.

Kevin turned the TV onto the weather channel. I scooted back on the bed and laid my head on the pillow and nick jumped on the bed and laid next to me. he pulled me closer to him and kissed me. I kissed back and it turned into a makeout. Joe turned toward us and groaned.]

J: come on. I don't wanna see that
N: [pulls away for a second] close your eyes
J: fine. im gonna call zoey
K: im taking a nap...since you guys got to and I had to stay awake and drive!
N: ya you should..your cranky..and bitter
C: we're going exploring..have a nice nap
N: we are?
C: yes. Now come on Nicholas [grabs his hand]

[Nick and I walked out of the room and into the hallway. We walked down to the elevator and went into the lobby. We sat down on the couch and started talking. Nick had his arm around my shoulder and I had my head resting on his chest and I was playing with the collar on his shirt.]

N: hey lo?
C: yeah?
N: I think I love you
C: hey nick?
N: yeah?
C: I think I love you too

[I looked up and kissed him then rested my head back on his chest. We were both sitting on the couch staring out the huge lobby window and watching the rain pour down into the darkness and every couple seconds you could hear the loud thunder and the lightning would light up the sky. Then, after a few minutes I heard a familiar voice. It sounded close.]

C: do you hear that?
N: yeah it sounds like joe
C: is he in that chair facing the other way?
N: I think so..come on
