Black people, in the United States alone, earn in excess of $900 billion dollars in a single year. That is HUGE buying power. Currently, however, 95% of Black spending is done with non-Black businesses because of the lack of availability of Black products from Black companies.

The purpose of the Business Initiator is to empower the Black community by getting the services and products of Black-owned businesses into the hands of the Black consumers all over Texas and then the country. When we get Black people to buy from Black-owned businesses, the entire community wins.

The goals of the Business Initiator are:

1. To assist Black-owned businesses to prosper.
2. Encourage Black-owned business to hire Blacks from the community.
3. Assist in making our communities a better place to live.

Also, the more successful Black-owned businesses become the more taxes we pay in the Black community. Communities with lots of tax revenue have better schools, activities and programs for our children.

At the Business Initiator (BI) Network, we encourage every Black business member to spend part of what they earn, with other Black businesses in the Business InitiatorBI network.
