8.9 magnitude earthquake with a following 6 meter tsunami has devastated Japan
It broke at 5:45 GMT (14:45 local time)
Many deaths are likely.
Tsunami warnings have been issued for much of the pacific.

Best condolences to the Rising Sun. In times like Hurricane Katrina, the earthquake in Haiti, and this, everyone needs to help each other out. As a resident from New Orleans, I know very well what really means after Katrina struck my hometown: need help and support.
