hiya lol i just got this phone today, can you help me?

can you set the phone so you can see who you've just received a message from? it just comes up as "one new message" and doesn't say who it's from - can you change settings so it does?
also, can you set the lights at the side so they flash when you get a call like they do when you switch it on?
